The Vision® Information System (VIS) provides current and regularly updated information. The events calendar lists forthcoming CPD courses, a summary of each course’s content, date and venue as well as contact details, e-mail and web links for those running the course. It has excellent keyword search facilities to enable users to view courses covering certain topics.
The VIS has a frequently updated veterinary news section containing news articles, website and book reviews, features and product news, enabling practice staff to have instant

access to developments in the veterinary world. Nutrition, exotic pets and breeds databases are also available for reference purposes.
Electronic copies of The Veterinary Business Journal, In Practice Management, In Practice Journal and the Journal of Small Animal Practice are included in the VIS and they are useful for reference purposes, particularly since it is quick and easy to find specific articles using the VIS search facilities. For VNs, the VIS offers tutorials via an electronic copy of Veterinary Practice Nurse.
The regularly updated e-compendium contains information on pharmaceuticals registered for use in the UK together with information on acupuncture, herbal medicines,

homeopathy and nutraceuticals. There is also a detailed veterinary supplies section listing the package sizes and prices of drugs.
The laboratory data section of VIS contains test profiles, sampling techniques and reference ranges in detail from major laboratories.
The veterinary directory gives the contact details of an array of providers, specialists, organisations and societies and the referral directory provides contact details for all types of referrals. Using the VIS search option, it is possible to find specific specialists by keying in relevant details.
